Studio 45 offers a wide variety of dance classes, from beginning dance to our Elite competition team classes. Below are a list of the classes we currently offer.

The beginner ballet class is one of the most rewarding classes for someone starting dance. Ballet is the foundation for many other dance forms, such as jazz, tap, and even hip-hop. Ballet teaches alignment, placement, balance and elegance.

Clogging is a truly American dance form that began in the Appalachian Mountains and now enjoys widespread popularity throughout the United States and around the world.

Clogging is a percussive dance. Dancers wear shoes that have double taps and beat out rhythms with their feet. Clogging was traditionally done to bluegrass music, but is now danced to all types of music, including country, pop, and hip-hop and has its roots in Irish, English, African and Cherokee dance.

Lyrical classes interpret the words of a song through movement, and the technique used is a combination of ballet and modern. The Lyrical dance style has its primary basis in ballet, combining the many technical elements of classical ballet with the freedom, fluidity, expressiveness and airier aspects of jazz, contemporary and modern dance.

Jazz dance first appeared on the dance scene in the early 1900s in New Orleans and gained in popularity through the 1950s. It incorporates many of the same elements as ballet, including leaps and turns, while combining sharp rhythmic moves to upbeat music.

Tap classes build from the basic tap steps to complex syncopated rhythm patterns, and several tap styles. The class begins with with basic tap terminology as well as technique and build from there.

The term “Hip Hop” greatly limits the scope of a typical Hip Hop class.

From R&B and House to Club and Pop, Hip Hop classes utilize upbeat music from various genres, in addition to the latest Hip Hop hits.

The resulting outcome is an energetic class that not only teaches you Hip Hop movements and technique but also instills rhythm and precision.

At Studio 45, we take great pride in showcasing our student’s talents through our Elite Competition Teams.  We handpick our ‘Elite’ dancers and place them on teams that match their skill set to excel at a competitive level.

Elite Teams will travel to dance competitions locally and regionally to showcase their talents. Dancers are also allowed to compete as soloists, and as parts of a duo or trio.
